A plan has been adopted to create a ‘National Healthcare Database’

The government's Information and Communication Technology Division has planned to create a technology-based ‘National Healthcare Database’ in the country. A decision was taken on Thursday to prepare the preliminary draft for the implementation of the database healthcare pilot project in a participatory manner.

This decision was taken in a meeting held at the Idea Floor of ICT Tower under the leadership of Minister of State for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak. A delegation led by former chairman of American global technology company Intel Corporation and Medtronic PLC, Omar Ishraq, participated in the meeting.

In the meeting, the plan to create a tech-based ‘National Healthcare Database’ in a joint initiative of ICT Division, Medtronic Labs, BRAC and i-Health Solutions Ltd. was discussed in detail in order to modernize and smarten the healthcare of Bangladesh.

Director General of ICT Directorate Md. Mostafa Kamal, Global Market President of Medtronic Labs Ruchika Singhal, Managing Director of iHealth Solutions Limited Farooq Alam, Executive Director of BRAC Asif Saleh, Business Development Manager of i-Health Solutions Anika Ahmed and related officials of ICT Division were present.
